With spring officially being here less than a week away, I think it's time to go over the top 15 fashion trends for spring/summer 2017. Many trends are continuing from previous seasons, while some are from decades in the past. Remember the 80's? No? Trying to forget them? Well, they're back! From big shoulders to ruffles, influences from the 80's are seen by many designers this season. It's not bad, most of the trends have been modernized. The following are the top 15 trends to look out for this season!
#1 Statement Tees
I call these shirts with shit on them! Seriously, this is exactly what's going on with this trend. Whether it's a photo of Tupac and Biggie, or words displaying how you feel, you'll be right on trend with you statement tee!
#2 Sportswear
Sportswear, athleisure, lounging clothes, oh my! For all my sporty gals who like to be comfy and cute, this season's trend is just for you!
#3 Bralettes
Rihanna wore hers for the 2017 Grammy's, and you've seen them everywhere else! Bralettes double as both an undergarment that peeps out and is not so hidden, and as a top altogether.
#4 Stripes
It is literally the pattern of the season. Stripes are everywhere! There are so many variations you'll be sure to find a way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe.
#5 Sheer | Transparency
This is one of those continuing trends I was telling you about. It is a perfect layering piece for those less adventurous. A sheer top would be perfect with a bralette, another trend making it to this list, or as a beach coverup.
#6 Skewed Skirt Hemlines
This trend is bringing back asymmetrical, handkerchief, and all other non traditional skirt hems.
#7 White Dresses
Perfect for both day and nighttime looks. White dresses will definitely be seen all season long this year. These looks are perfect for an all white party or any other event.
#8 Modern Ruffles
Spring | summer looks always tend to have a romantic feel to them. Ruffles add to that trend. Ruffles are not all created equally and there's something for everyone!
#9 Statement Sleeves
Sleeves this season are bigger, bolder, longer, and embellished! A not so subtle way to amp up your wardrobe.
#10 Power Shoulders
Yes big shoulders are back! You can go all the way or start with simple shoulder pads.
As mentioned before, the 80's are back! Love it or hate they are. There are many ways to add this trend to your closet.
#12 Deconstructed Shirting
Taking plain button up shirts and deconstructing or reconstructing them are in this season. To take hand at this look you may want to try to DIY this trend if you're brave enough.
#13 Pastel Goth

#14 Underwear as Outerwear
Yes, it's true, lingerie is acceptable to wear in public this season. Rihanna for Fenty x Puma and Victoria Beckham shows us all how to do it tastefully.
#15 Tulle
Another romantic continuing trend to round up the the top 15 trends this season, tulle. Light airy fabric is perfect throughout the season.
